  • Scissors, compasses, PVA glue.

Ladybug of Accordion Paper Step by Step

The Insect Body

You need half a circle to make it. Use compasses to draw a circle of any size you want, but don’t make it too small, since a paper piece of a small size will make it difficult to fold an accordion.

Ladybug of Accordion Paper

Cut the circle in half. We will need only half the circle for one craft.

Starting from the straight side, make small folds on the paper. Make a narrow fold forward, turn the paper over and fold it forward again. The smaller the child, the larger folds will be; therefore, the circle half shouldn’t be small either.

Apply glue to the accordion inner edges and stick the sides together. Smooth all the folds out, thus creating a rounded shape. It will make such a ladybug body.

By the way, you can use the same technique to make leaves of accordion paper.

Moreover, lots of various characters can be made using this technique. It’s popular to make children’s crafts of accordion paper.

Final Stage

Cut a small triangle out of black paper or cardboard, with its size corresponding to the narrow side of the body. Round off the triangle edges a little, adjusting the size at the same time.

You will also need three thin strips for legs and black small circles.
