An origami carnation consists of a few parts. But despite this fact, it is easy and fast to fold it. Kids will certainly be able to make the craft.
As the result, you will get a nice carnation paper flower, which a child can make on his or her own for any celebration and to decorate a postcard or a gift with it.
What materials will you need?
- Red colored paper (origami paper);
- Green paper;
- Scissors, glue, a ruler.
Origami Carnation Step by Step
To make the flower, prepare 4 square pieces of red paper and 1 piece of green paper of the same size. It’s convenient to use special origami paper and just take 4 red sheets and one green.
Place a red square in front of you.
Fold it in half joining the corners to make a triangle.
Then, fold the other two corners to make cross-folds on the square.
Fold them to make up a triangle once again and lift the side corners upwards, connecting them with the upper corner. We need this to find the guideline folds on the sides.
Unfold the corners; you can see folds on the sides; you should fold the corners again towards them.
Turn the paper figure over. Fold the right side, aligning it along the center.
Then, the left one.
One part of the origami carnation is ready. To make the flower, you will need 4 parts, so make three more of red paper. And one more of green paper similar to the previous ones.
Final Stage
Equip with glue and let’s start assembling the flower parts.
To do this, open up one of the sides, apply glue and insert another carnation part.
Then, add the other two one by one. Press the sides so that they could be located evenly.
Important: do your best to glue the carnation parts so that the bottom corners could meet at one point.
To finish the flower, open up its green part, apply glue inside it and insert the red flower there.
Close the sides and fix them with glue. That’s it, the origami carnation is ready. It’s nice as it is; you can give it as a gift to your father, mother or grandparents for any celebration.
