Follow this step-by-step guide to making origami Kitten
We will make a head and a body of this Kitten separately, and then just glue them together.
The Kitten’s head is smaller in size than the body. So we need to pieces of square paper, one of which is a bit smaller than the other. The ideal difference between the lengths of square sides is about 2.5-3 cm. Thus, if the side of the first square paper is 10 cm, then the side of the second square will be about 7-7.5 cm.
Kitten’s Head
Take a smaller square and place it in front of you in “diamond” position (when one of its corners points at you) with the colored side up.
Fold it in half to get a triangle.
Open it, and fold the right side of the paper along the crease line.
Do the same with the left side.
Bend back the bottom corner of just folded right part of paper – from the center outwards.
Do the same with the left part.
Pull the very tip of the model downwards and make a firm crease – like it is shown on the picture.
After that turn the model backside.
Bend the tip of the bottom corner upwards – this white part will soon turn into the nice mouth and nose of our Kitten.
When you bend back the very tip of just folded corner – you will see its funny nose.
Now, all you have to do is just draw him whiskers and a mouth, and then – glue the eyes. The Kitten head is done!
Kitten’s Body
There are a few easy ways of making a body, and this one includes only a few steps.
The first steps follow the same suit. Take a bigger square paper, place it in “diamond” position on the table, and fold it in half.
Open it and fold both sides of the square along the crease line.
Now fold the model in half to get a narrow triangle like this one.
Position the triangle in front of you pointing its sharp corner to the right.
To make a tail, bend the edge of the sharp corner down. This is it – we finished with the body!
Now you just have to glue a head and a body together, and your pretty origami Kitten can play with you!
