- A black felt pen.
How to Make an Origami Pigeon: Version 1
Prepare a square piece of paper or special origami paper. In this version, the paper is pale pink from one side and white from the other. Of course, you can use two-sided paper as well, but the pigeon looks more interesting when white paper is used.
Fold it in half, side to side to mark the central fold, with the white color being located in the middle.
Open the paper and fold the upper corners, aligning them along the center fold.
Fold the paper in half again, but this time with the corners folded inwards.
Unfold horizontally for your convenience. Use scissors to make a cut along the line indicated in the photo. You should cut both sides of the folded paper at once.
Raise the front face of the paper a little and fold it.
Then, the back side.
Turn the front corner backwards and make a fold. Fold it so that the pigeon’s small beak could be seen. To complete, draw an eye with a felt pen.
Origami Pigeon for Kids with Step by Step Instruction: Version 2
Here, we also use single-sided origami paper. However, two-sided is suitable as well, but in this case the bird will have no white breast.
Place a square piece of paper of any size in front of you.
Fold it in half by connecting the opposite corners. Make a fold, then fold it once again, connecting the other two corners to create intersecting folds on the paper.
Leave the paper folded in the triangular shape.
Fold both corners sideward, creating a small fold.
Now, pull one corner backwards to the right.
Fold it in half, connecting the upper part with the bottom one.
Fold it upwards as shown in the photo.
Fold the back side in the similar way.
The origami pigeon is almost complete; fold the front corner downwards to make a beak, and draw an eye.
These kinds of pigeons you can make of paper – it’s very easy and fast.
