Step-by-step: Woven Fish from Colored Paper
This craft is simple and quick, yet fun to make. Before starting, prepare eight identical strips of paper in four colors—two strips of each shade. In our example, we used red, blue, pink, and green strips, but you can choose any colors you like.

Place a red strip on the table. Then take a blue strip and glue it to the top edge of the red one, forming a right angle.

Glue a pink strip to the blue one. Place it next to the red strip, parallel to it.

Add a green strip. Position it under the red strip but above the pink one. It should lie next to the blue strip, parallel to it.

Now add another blue strip. Place it above the red strip but under the pink one. It should lie next to the green strip, parallel to it. This way, you’ll get a visible color pattern: in the first column blue-red, in the second pink-green, and so on in a repeating sequence.

Weave in the remaining strips, following the established color pattern. Don’t forget to glue them as you go so the fish holds its shape and doesn’t fall apart.

Trim or fold any excess ends of the strips. Leave only the first ends (they will become the fins) and the last ends (they will form the tail). This way, you’ll have one strip of each color remaining.
Lightly sketch the shapes of the tail and fins with a pencil. The shapes can be anything you like—choose what appeals to you.

Cut the tail and fins along the drawn outlines.

Glue on the eye.

And there you have it—a lovely woven fish craft from colored paper! You can make many such fish, and each one will be unique.
You can also make an origami fish.

Get creative by choosing different strip colors and varying the shapes of the fins and tail. These fish can be used in an аппликация by sticking them onto a blue background and adding sand, seaweed, and other ocean details.
