Handmade “Four Seasons” Trees

“Four Seasons” Trees

The “Four Seasons” trees are made of accordion paper. The technique is useful and easy for children. Also, it’s a great way to make a tree, a bush, or a forest.

Materials used:

  • Double-sided colored paper (green, yellow, blue). A bit of paper for fruit, flowers and snowflakes (red, white, orange, pink);
  • Very thick brown cardboard. It’s important to use hard cardboard, otherwise the tree may be unstable. Optionally, you can glue two thinner strips together, or even cut a piece of paper boxes:
  • A glue stick (PVA), scissors, a writing pencil.

Handmade “Four Seasons: Trees: Step-by-Step Review

You can make 2 trees out of one A4 sheet of paper. To get one tree, cut the paper in half. Put one half aside, and use the second to make the craft. Also, cut off a strip of brown cardboard, which should be about 20 cm long and 2.5-3 cm wide. It’s not recommended to make the trunk too thin; afterwards, it may fail to hold the accordion tree crown.

Fold the brown strip in half and bend the ends sideward.

Fold a half green paper in half and cut. Make an accordion out of both pieces by folding strips, alternating directions of the folds. Make two accordions.

Fold each of them in half and glue the inner sides.

Now, attach one fan to the brown strip, and then, glue the second green accordion fan to it and to the strip.
