A very, very spooky Halloween ghost craft! It’s quick and easy to make. The craft consists of simple pieces: three semicircles, eyes, and a scattering of tiny paper strips.
Materials needed:
- White and yellow paper for the details;
- Black cardstock or paper for the background;
- Black marker;
- Googly eyes;
- Scissors;
- Glue.
Halloween Ghost Craft: Step-by-Step Instructions
First, prepare the craft pieces.
- Cut three long semicircles out of white paper. These will become the ghosts.
- Cut lots of tiny strips from yellow paper. They will later become stars. There’s no exact number of strips needed, but keep in mind that each star requires four strips.
- Get the googly eyes ready. We used different kinds: round, oval, and even ones with eyelashes. If you don’t have googly eyes, don’t worry! You can simply draw them with a marker.
Next, cut the bottom edges of the semicircles into a fringe. This will be the ghosts’ hems (after all, they’re wearing sheets!). Don’t make the fringe too long; it should cover only the bottom part of each ghost.
After that, decorate the ghosts’ faces. Glue on the googly eyes and draw their smiles. Make each smile different: the first one can be simple and straight, the second one tilted to the side, and the third one shaped like a cat’s mouth. Let your imagination run wild!
If you don’t have googly eyes, draw them instead. You can experiment here, too, and give each ghost a different expression.
If you like, you can add other details, such as a nose, eyebrows, bangs, a bow, or rosy cheeks.
Next, glue the ghosts onto the background sheet. Now they look as if they’re floating in the night sky! The ghosts can extend slightly beyond the edges of the paper. This makes the craft look more interesting.
Now move on to the yellow strips. Glue them together to make stars that look like the asterisk symbol (*). This is a meticulous activity that helps develop fine motor skills.
Then glue the stars onto the background. The ghosts have a little more light now! Just like the ghosts, the stars can extend beyond the edges of the paper.
We used five stars, but you can add more if you like.
The Halloween ghost craft is ready! The ghosts turned out unique and full of personality, while the stars add a lovely touch of brightness to the dark background.
By the way, the background doesn’t have to be black. You can use a dark blue shade instead if you prefer.
