A simple origami bee for children’s crafts. A step-by-step illustrated review of making a paper bee in a simple way. The same method can be used to make an origami was.
Materials:
- Yellow paper or a square piece of special origami paper;
- Black felt pen;
- Optionally, paper or adhesive eyes.
Origami Bee Step by Step
Prepare a square piece of yellow paper. The sizes are at your own discretion. But you should remember that it can be difficult for small children to make small origami.
Fold the square in half from corner to corner to make a triangle. Then, connect the other two corners in the similar way. You will get cross folds.
Fold the paper in half again with its corner up.
Pull the upper corner and fold it, connecting with the opposite side edge. We need this step to mark the halfpage fold.
Unfold the corner to its initial position.
Fold the bottom side upwards, reaching the fold made at the previous stage.
Raise the right side of the figure upwards, aligning it along the central fold.
Then, direct the left side upwards in the similar way, connecting the sides in the upper corner area.
The resulting figure resembles a big-eared bunny. Indeed, it not just resembles, but is completely similar to all the stages of folding an origami rabbit. But the further steps differ.
Turn the raised sides, or ears, into wings. To achieve that, lower them down and fold, slightly directing them sideward.
The Final Stage of Making Origami Bee or Origami Wasp
The work here is not difficult at all, but requires precision. You will need to fold small corners to achieve the right bee shape.
Fold the small upper corner downwards.
Then, make a bend-fold in the same area, reaching the upper part of the wings.
Fold the side corners backwards. The working area is shown with flowers.
Fold the wings corners backwards as well.
Use black felt pen to draw curved stripes, stick or draw eyes. That’s all, the origami bee is complete.
