A bright and fun giraffe paper craft for kids. The neck is folded like an accordion, which helps develop fine motor skills, while the other pieces are simple and easy to understand. Children can easily make this craft themselves.
Materials:
- Yellow, orange, brown, green (you can use several shades) and white paper for the pieces;
- Light blue cardstock or paper for the background;
- Black, brown and green markers;

Giraffe Paper Craft for Kids: Step-by-Step
First, cut out all the pieces for the craft.
- From yellow paper, cut out the neck (a long strip), the head (a half-oval) and two ears.
- From orange paper, cut out the muzzle (a slightly thick oval) and two inner ear pieces.
- From brown paper, cut out two giraffe horns. They look a bit like alien antennae.
- From white paper, cut out two roughly shaped circles. These will be the giraffe’s eyes.
- From green paper, cut out some greenery: pointed leaves to decorate the craft. The exact number is up to you, but 4–5 leaves will be enough. They should be roughly the same shape, but you can use different shades of green rather than just one.
Next, take a brown marker and decorate the entire neck. Cover it with spots of different sizes, either round or oval.
Then fold the neck into a simple accordion. The folds should not be too small or too large, so try to keep them even. Both the first and the last fold should point upward.
After that, glue the neck onto the background. Don’t attach it in a straight line; instead, give it a slight curve to the right.
Next, glue on the head. Turn it slightly to the side. You can place the head over the last fold of the accordion neck.
Then glue on the ears and horns. Don’t forget to glue the orange inner pieces onto the ears.
Next, glue on the muzzle and eyes. The muzzle is the orange oval. Before gluing it on, fold it in half and draw neat nostrils. Add pupils to the eyes, leaving small white highlights.

Finally, decorate the craft with greenery. Glue most of the leaves along the bottom, but tuck one into the giraffe’s mouth to make the craft look more interesting. Draw the veins on the leaves before gluing them on.
