Elephant Craft for Kids

Simple elephant craft for kids — fun and beautiful. An interesting idea for children’s craft activities.

Materials:

  • Blue or purple paper
  • Pink paper
  • A little white paper
  • Scissors
  • A compass (optional, you can do without it)
  • Glue

Step-by-step Elephant Craft for Kids

The craft is made from simple geometric shapes. The body and head can be assembled from circles, the tusks from elongated triangles, and the trunk from a long strip of paper folded accordion-style.

In our example, the elephant is blue, but you can choose purple or gray—they will look just as nice.

  • Using a compass or freehand, draw circles on the blue paper—these will be the body, head, and ears of the mighty animal.
  • On the pink paper, draw a smaller circle for the inner parts of the ears.
  • On the white paper, draw triangles for the tusks.

Cut out all the pieces. You will need four blue circles, as well as two pink pieces (ears) and two white pieces (tusks). Don’t forget to cut a strip for the trunk—the longer it is, the funnier your elephant will look.

Fold the paper several times to cut identical pieces at once.

Fold the strip into an accordion to make the trunk more dimensional and interesting. To do this, fold the edge, press the crease slightly, then flip the strip and fold again. Repeat until the strip turns into an even spring.

Assembly:

  • Glue the pink circles onto the blue ones to form the ears. You can place them in the center or slightly to the side. To add volume, bend the edges of the ears slightly.
  • Glue the finished ears to the top of the elephant, positioning them under the head.
  • Finish the elephant’s face: glue the accordion trunk slightly below the center of the circle, and place the tusks on either side.
  • Add eyes—you can draw them with a marker, cut them out of paper, or use ready-made ones.
  • Take the remaining circle and make a small cut along one edge to form the body. Draw legs with a black marker.

Glue all the finished parts onto a sheet of paper of any color: yellow—for a sunny scene, green—for a forest setting, or white—if you prefer simplicity.

If you like, add clouds and draw palm trees.
