Materials Needed
- White paper for the cloud;
- Blue paper for the raindrop (white paper can be used instead);
- A black marker for the eyes and smile;
- Blue and pink markers for extra details;
- Scissors;
- Glue.
Paper Cloud Step by Step
This craft can be made in just a few simple steps.
First, draw a cloud and an arm on white paper, and a raindrop on blue paper. If you don’t have blue paper, white paper will work just as well. You can also make the cloud from blue paper if you prefer—it will look like it’s ready to bring some rain.
Cut out all the shapes. You will need two arms. Fold the paper in half before cutting to make two matching pieces quickly and easily.
Bring the cloud and raindrop to life. Draw eyes and a smile on the cloud with a black marker. Use a blue marker to add an outline and a little nose, and a pink marker to add rosy cheeks. Draw a face on the raindrop as well. If the raindrop is white, outline it with a blue marker too. Both the cloud and the raindrop can have happy or grumpy expressions—it’s completely up to you.
Fold one end of each arm. This simple step adds dimension to the craft, making the cloud’s arms slightly raised instead of lying flat on the paper.
Glue the arms to the cloud using the folded ends. Make sure the arms are positioned correctly so they can hold the raindrop.
Do not place them too far apart, or the cloud will hold the raindrop with only one hand. At the same time, avoid placing them too close together so that the arms do not cover the raindrop.
To help with positioning, hold the raindrop between the arms while gluing them in place.
Place the raindrop in the cloud’s hands and glue it to the arms. You can also glue the cloud onto a blue background. Make sure the raindrop and the background are different shades so they do not blend together.
And that’s it—your paper cloud is complete! This craft looks cute and cheerful, and it is incredibly quick and easy to make.
