A tiger made from colored paper using a simple technique. Create the king of the jungle with your own hands—an enjoyable craft idea for children.
Materials Needed
- Orange paper;
- White paper or ready-made craft eyes;
- A black marker or felt-tip pen;
- Scissors;
- Glue.
Tiger Craft Step by Step
To begin, draw a long strip on the orange paper. This will become the tiger’s body. Also draw two circles: one large and one small. The large circle will be the tiger’s head, and the small circle will be one of its ears.
On the white paper, draw a circle about the same size as the ear. This will become the tiger’s eye. Instead of paper eyes, you can use store-bought craft eyes if you have them.

Cut out all the pieces. You will need two eyes and two ears. Fold the paper in half before cutting to make matching pieces quickly and easily.
We also recommend trying another way to make this animal—a fun accordion paper tiger craft.

Fold the body strip as shown in the photo. First, fold it in half. Then fold both ends toward the center. You should end up with four sections separated by folds. Fold one of the outer sections in half once more.

Cut the other outer section to create two wide strips along the edges and one narrow strip in the center. The wide strips will become the legs, and the narrow strip will become the tail.

Trim the corners of the legs and tail, rounding them off.

Draw tiger stripes on the center section of the body strip. This part will be visible on the outside of the finished craft.

Apply glue to the section immediately behind the striped area. Fold the body as shown in the photo and glue the coated section to the legs. The remaining outer section should end up inside the folded body. Don’t forget to bend the tail backward.
Like this majestic animal? Create an interesting and practical project—a tiger pencil holder made from cardboard tubes.

Draw toes on the legs and stripes on the tail.

Create the tiger’s face. Glue on the ears and eyes, then draw the nose, smile, and stripes.

Glue the face to the body to complete the craft.

All cats are wonderful, and their larger relatives are no exception. This colorful paper tiger turns out bright, cheerful, and adorable. If you like, instead of drawing the stripes with a marker, you can cut them from black paper and glue them on. This is also a great way to develop fine motor skills. You can even make a white or golden tiger instead of an orange one—these rare tigers really do exist in wildlife reserves around the world!
