Making this paper mouse is not difficult at all. It’s completed with a template; however, it couldn’t be any easier to make this craft even without it.
For the craft we used:
- Double-sided orange cardboard;
- Black paper;
- Moving eyes; however, you can use white paper to make them by cutting out circles and drawing black pupils in the center
- Compasses, a writing pencil, a black felt pen, a glue stick, scissors.
How to Make a Paper Mouse?
Draw a circle of the size you want on an orange cardboard and cut it in half. For your convenience, draw lines as shown on the template or print the template.
You should make folds along all these lines. If you have drawn them, make all the folds. But you can make everything without the template.
Begin with folding the semicircle in half.
Open and fold the right side, aligning it along the fold in the middle.
Similarly fold the left side.
You should get 3 folds: in the center and two along the edges. But you should make two more folds, whose lines are shown in the photo.
To achieve this, fold one of the sides, aligning the edge along the fold on the opposite side. Similarly, fold the other side.
Now, you have 5 folds dividing the semicircle into 6 sectors.
You should glue the first and the last sectors together, laying one on top of the other. Apply glue to the whole surface of the boundary sector and glue the second one atop of it. The body of the cone-shaped faceted paper mouse is ready.
Cut a long thin strip out of black paper or cardboard that will make the mouse’s tail, and two ears. The ears can be round, but you also need to draw an elongated area for attaching ears to the body.
Bend this ears’ area. Turn a long strip into a simple accordion by making small alternating paper folds.
Glue eyes, ears, and tail to the body. Draw the nose tip with a black felt pen. That’s it, the paper mouse is complete. Despite the long description, it doesn’t take long and much effort to make this craft.
