Continuing the topic of Halloween crafts, I would like to introduce an amusing bat made of a toilet paper roll and a paper accordion.
The bat looks extremely harmonious, and it is not difficult at all to make it. Everything is fast and easy.
You will need:
- 1 toilet paper tube or half a roll of paper towels;
- 1 sheet of black paper. The darker and deeper it is, the better;
- A bit of white paper for a smile and teeth. And for eyes as well if you have no ready-made ones;
- Googly eyes or handmade ones of white and black paper;
- A glue stick, scissors.
Bat Crafted of Toilet Paper Roll Step-by-Step
Wrap the tube with paper and mark its height and width; cut out a rectangle according to these parameters. You can make it a bit higher considering a fold. Cut the rest paper in half – it will make up wings.
Prepare the roll. Fold one of its upper edges.
Then the other one to make them join so that sharp angles appear at the sides.
Glue the prepared black paper onto the roll.
Fold its edges as well; fix them with glue.
Now, let’s get down to making the accordion wings. Fold one part of paper in half, measure off the tube height and cut off the rest. Put the piece you’ve got in front of you and make an accordion out of it. Just make a fold up to 1 cm and then, turn the paper and make another fold that should be equal to the first one. But now it will be the other way round.
Make paper accordions out of both pieces.
Fold them in half in the middle. Glue the inner sides together as shown by the arrow.
You will get these two bat wings.
Glue them on either side of the roll.
Glue the eyes; cut out a stripe for a mouth and two small triangles for teeth out of white paper. Glue them; you can use a toothpick for this delicate work.
That’s it, the bat of a toilet paper roll is ready. Happy Halloween! Many other ideas in the collection of Halloween Craft.
