Bee Craft Made from Paper Circles

Bee Craft Made from Paper Circles

A bee craft made from paper circles is created from simple shapes, yet it looks bright and original. This craft is suitable for young children.

Materials needed:

  • Yellow, brown, and light blue paper for the bee;
  • Colored cardstock or paper for the background;
  • A brown or black felt-tip pen for the smile;
  • Googly eyes, homemade or store-bought;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue.

Bee Craft Made from Paper Circles: Step-by-Step Instructions

First, prepare everything you need for the craft.

  • Cut two circles from brown paper, one larger and one smaller.
  • Similarly, cut two circles from yellow paper. The large yellow circle should be smaller than the large brown circle, and the small yellow circle should be smaller than the small brown circle.
  • In addition to the circles, cut a triangle from yellow paper (the bee’s stinger) and two identical strips with circles at the ends (the bee’s antennae).
  • Cut four egg-shaped pieces from light blue paper: two larger and two smaller ones. These will be the bee’s wings.

Next, choose the color for the background, or base sheet. Blue, dark blue, or green will work well, but the choice is up to you. Cut a large circle from the chosen cardstock or paper, large enough to fit the bee you are going to make.

Cardstock is better for the base sheet because it is thicker and more durable. However, if you do not have cardstock, you can use colored paper.

Once everything is prepared, start assembling the craft. Take the small yellow circle and glue the two antennae to it. This will become the bee’s head.

Then add the bee’s face: the eyes and a smile. You can cut the eyes from white paper, draw them, or use store-bought googly eyes. Draw the smile with a felt-tip pen.

Next, move on to the wings. Glue each large wing to a small wing at their narrow ends. Do this with both pairs of wings.

Now start assembling the bee craft. Take the base sheet and place it on the table.

Next, glue the first element onto the base: the large brown circle. Place it in the upper part of the background, slightly to the right of the center.

Then glue the large yellow circle on top of the first piece. The brown circle underneath should remain slightly visible.

Next, attach the wings to the craft. Place them around the edges of the yellow circle, leaving enough space between them so that their two tips can be covered by the small brown circle.

Then glue on the small brown circle. It should cover the narrow ends of the wings, while part of the yellow circle should remain visible underneath it.

Finally, add the remaining details: the head and the stinger. As always, part of the small brown circle should remain visible beneath the head.

Glue the stinger near the large brown circle.

The bee craft made from paper circles is ready! Some of the materials can be substituted. For example, you can use black paper instead of brown and white paper instead of light blue.
