Bee on a Flower Paper Craft — Step-by-Step Instructions

Before you begin, prepare all the craft pieces. Draw a long, wide strip on the yellow paper for the bee’s body. On the white or light blue paper, draw a wing shape. In our example, the wings are white. Next, draw a flower on colored paper. You can use any color you like—red, pink, or orange all work well. We chose orange.

Cut out all the pieces along the outlines. You will need two wings and two eyes.

Prepare the antennae by cutting two thin strips from black paper. There is no need to draw outlines first, as they are easy to cut freehand.

Another fun version of this craft is a bee made from a toilet paper roll. It’s a simple and creative project that children will enjoy making.

Curl the antennae by wrapping them around a pencil, pen, or another thin object.

Take the yellow paper strip and draw black stripes across it to create the bee’s pattern. A ruler can help, but perfectly straight lines are not necessary.

Roll the yellow strip into a tube and glue the ends together to hold its shape. You can place it against the flower while working to decide how large the tube should be.

Glue the bee’s body onto the flower. Attach the side where the paper ends meet so the seam is hidden against the flower.

Our bee is made from a rolled paper tube, but you can also create one with a cone-shaped body. For step-by-step instructions, check out our paper bee craft tutorial.

Finish the craft by adding the remaining details. Glue the wings to the back so they extend from the flower behind the bee. Then attach the eyes and antennae to the bee’s body.
