Today we will make an original craft using disposable tableware as a basis. The result is a funny movable a paper plate octopus craft, all the manufacturing steps of which are shown in this tutorial.
To create such a funny toy, we will prepare:
- paper plate;
- blue gouache with a brush;
- pink cardboard;
- scissors with white glue;
- wooden stick;
- stationery knife;
- multi-colored threads.
Paper Plate Octopus Craft Step by Step
First, use blue gouache and paint the central part of the paper plate. This will be the background for the future octopus.
With a utility knife, make a horizontal cut in the lower third.
Now let’s create an octopus. From pink cardboard, cut out the blank of the following shape.
We are preparing multi-colored threads about 10 cm long. We used yarn for knitting in different colors.
On the reverse side of the cardboard blank, we apply white glue in the lower part, after which we glue multi-colored threads.
We trim the ends of the threads with scissors. This is how the basis for the future octopus looks like.
Glue a wooden stick on the back side. We took a blue stick so that it merges as much as possible with the background of our craft. If there is no finished stick of the desired color, then it can be painted with gouache.
And on the front side we add plastic eyes to the octopus. When the octopus moves, the eyes will move funny in the direction of the slope.
It remains to insert a wooden stick into the slot, after which you can move it and play with the octopus. Everything, the moving octopus from a paper plate is ready.
