An interesting craft for children is an origami rowanberry applique. It can become a team activity for themed classes dedicated to autumn.
The work is simple, but it requires diligence and time to make a certain number of rowanberries and leaves.
Materials used:
- Red colored paper;
- Green paper;
- Cardboard base of any color;
- A brown felt pen, scissors, a glue stick.
Rowanberry Craft Step by Step
To make an origami rowanberry branch, you will need 8-10 small red paper squares. And 10 more larger green squares.
Fold Origami Rowanberries
Take one red square.
Fold a little at the corners, thus making the square round. Don’t fold the corners too much, since it will just make the square smaller. And you need to fold a figure with 8 equal sides.
Turn all red squares into berries.
Fold Origami Rowanberry Leaves
Place a green square in front of you.
Fold it in half corner to corner to make a triangle.
Open up the triangle and fold both sides, aligning them along the center the fold.
Then, fold the sides towards the center once again. Start with the right side.
And then the left.
You will get such a long rowanberry leaf that resembles an arrow head.
Make leaves by folding all the green triangles. The work may turn out to be too laborious for children; however, it’s not difficult at all. In this case, you can work as a team to make this rowanberry branch applique.
Rowanberry Applique: the Final Stage
Prepare a cardboard base of any color. Of course, red and green won’t be the best options, since the berries and leaves will be lost against the similar background.
Draw with a brown felt pen or stick a long paper branch with twigs for berries at the end.
Then, add the berries and the leaves on the branch sides. That’s it; the rowanberry applique is ready.
