Step-by-step Colored Paper Frog Craft
This green swamp dweller is showing off a cute bow. To begin, draw a lily pad, a head, and three strips on green paper: two identical long, thin ones and one shorter, wider strip. Draw the eyes on white paper, and a bow on paper of any color. Choose any shade for the bow—in our example, it’s orange. If you are making two frogs, you can give one a pink bow and the other a blue one, so you’ll have a boy and a girl.
You can also explore a whole collection of frog crafts made in different techniques in the guide — Frog Crafts for Kids.

Cut out all the pieces. To make two even, identical eyes, fold the paper in half and cut them out at the same time. If the piece of paper is too small to fold, place one piece of white paper on top of another.

Make the frog’s head. Draw the pupils (or glue small circles of black paper in the center of the eyes), then attach the eyes to the head. Draw a smile with a red marker. Make it wide, as any respectable frog would have. If you don’t have a red marker, use a black one.

Assemble the body. Fold the thick strip in half and glue it, then attach the bow to the body.

Glue the frog’s head to the body.

Attach the finished piece to the lily pad. You can rotate it to find the best angle before gluing.

Move on to the legs. Apply glue to the end of a thin strip, fold it about halfway, and glue it. Repeat the same with the second strip.

Bend the protruding part of each strip to form a right angle, completing the legs.

Glue on the legs. It’s most convenient to attach them to the lily pad.

And there you have it—a lovely frog craft! It looks as if it has come straight from its native swamp to show itself off. This project is easy enough even for the youngest crafters.
