All the details on making such a clay craft are shown in this tutorial.

For modeling, prepare:

  • red clay;
  • decorative eyes with movable pupils;
  • plastic stack.

Clay Lobster Step by Step

First, we roll up a large ball of red clay, from which we will make the head and chest of the lobster.

The abdomen is made of several elements, for this we roll up several small balls.

Now let’s prepare the elements from which we will make limbs for our lobster. It will be a pair of balls and thin flagella.

Thin flagella made of red clay are cut into pieces. As a result, we should get 8 thin sticks.

Let’s start shaping the body. To do this, we give a large ball a more elongated shape, and squeeze the small balls a little on the sides.

All these elements are interconnected. We get a head with a chest connected to the abdomen.

Next, we blind a few elements for the tail fin of the lobster.

Add them to our clay craft.

We form claws from previously rolled small balls, for this we flatten round blanks, and then cut out an extra segment with a stack.

We attach these claws to the lobster, additionally using a pair of thin flagella.
