A snail with a heart is a simple Valentine’s Day craft. You will need a minimum of materials, time and skills to make it.
You will need:
- One strip of cardboard;
- The stripe of the colored paper;
- The glue stick, scissors;
- The moving eyes, markers.
Snail with a Heart Step by Step
Body
Prepare two identical strips: the cardboard and paper ones. The body will be made of the cardboard strip, and a shell in the form of a heart will be made of the paper one.
Their length can be different, depending on the desired size of the snail. For example, the strip can be cut from the long side of A4 paper, about 3 cm wide.
Take only half a strip of cardboard for the body. On one side of it, cut a small rectangle to make the snail’s barb.
Fold the barb forward, and fold the strip itself in half to form a body.
Making the heart-shell of a snail in love
Take the strip of the colored paper. Make two cuts on both sides to the middle of the strip. Note that one cut should be on one side of the strip, and the second one – on the opposite.
Insert one cut into the other and you get this kind of fish.
Then make a fold in the middle of the ring, open the ends to form a stand.
Redirect the fold itself and secure with the glue. You get a pretty heart.
Glue the heart on the body of a snail.
Draw the eyes with a felt-tip pen on the barb, or paste the moving ones. Complete the snail with a heart smile drawn with a red felt-tip pen.
Now you have the snail in love, it just needs a Valentine, which can be made of paper of a slightly different shade.
